Thanksgiving falls on November 27th this year, and the Charlotte area is home to some of the best events honoring the holiday! Here’s a list of places to go and things to see:
- MeckMIN’s Interfaith Friendsgiving 2025 (Thursday, November 20th at Myers Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC; 6:00pm-8:00pm): All are welcome at this Thanksgiving feast!
- Yap Ye Iswa Festival (Saturday, November 22nd at the Catawba Cultural Center, Rock Hill, SC; 10:00am-4:00pm): Honoring the Catawba people, who have lived in the Carolinas for over 6,000 years. Vendors, food, traditional dances, cultural events, and more.
- Traditional Southern Thanksgiving Cooking Class (Sunday, November 23rd at The Foodie School in Fort Mill, SC from 5:00pm-8:00pm; ages 10+): Learn how to make a traditional, multi-course, southern Thanksgiving meal! Get your tickets quickly; this event sells out!
- 76th Annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade (Wednesday, November 26th in Uptown Charlotte from 9th Street to Good Samaritan Way; starts at 5:45pm): Balloons, floats, and festive Thanksgiving fun!
- CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot (Thursday, November 27th in SouthPark, 8:10am): 8K, 5K, 1 mile, and tot trot available!
- Davidson Turkey Trot (Thursday, November 27th at 7:45am; Davidson Town Hall, Davidson, NC): 5K, family-friendly event for all skill levels!
- Dinner with the Raptors (Friday, November 28th at 11:00am; Carolina Raptor Center, Huntersville, NC): Presentation on raptor diets, in honor of Thanksgiving!
