A “Quick Start” Guide to Mardi Gras in Charlotte | Charlotte Moms Network

New Orleans isn’t the only place celebrating Mardi Gras.  The day, also known as Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday, traditionally marks the last day before the start of the Lenten season for Catholics.  Here’s a quick list of places where you can indulge in traditional Mardi Gras fare in the Charlotte area:

  • Places to Buy a King Cake:  Carolina Sweets Company – Waxhaw (3709 Methodist Church Lane, Waxhaw, NC 28173); Renata’s Kitchen (Charlotte; order directly online from their Instagram menu and pick up locally:  King Cake Cream Cheese or King Cake Praline.)
  • Where to Enjoy a Crawfish Boil:  Fat Sunday Crawfish Boil (food, beads, King Cake, and more) on Sunday, March 2, 2025 (Brewers, 4001 Yancey Road, Charlotte, NC 28217)
  • How to Celebrate, Bourbon Street-Style:  All day celebration with Mardi Gras-themed drinks and Cajun food, from Saturday, March 1st through Tuesday, March 4th.  (Papa Doc’s Shore Club, 3990 Charlotte Hwy, Lake Wylie, SC 29710) (803)-831-0043
