Bridget Sinha of Balanced Physical Therapy and Pilates
Our latest Meet a Mom feature is about Bridget Sinha, who started a business during the pandemic that continues to thrive: Balanced Physical Therapy and Pilates!
Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi, I’m Bridget Sinha! I am originally from the suburbs of Boston and moved around quite a bit in my 20s, before landing in Charlotte in 2018. Now I’m settled in Pineville with my husband, our active 15-month-old little boy, and our dog.
What are your favorite activities/restaurants in/around Charlotte?
Downtown Pineville is my favorite spot with coffee shops, wine bars, restaurants, and cute shops to explore.
What are your child(ren)’s favorite things to do in Charlotte?
Watching airplanes is at the top of the list lately. Whether it is spotting a plane during walks through the neighborhood or staking out for the morning at the airport overlook, he can’t get enough!
Tell us about your business
Balanced Physical Therapy opened as a pandemic project in 2020, offering physical therapy services only. In 2023, we expanded to include a fully equipped Pilates studio with small group classes, in addition to our one-on-one services. Our studio is nestled in South Charlotte at 3315 Springbank Lane, Suite 309, near the Arboretum.
Balanced Physical Therapy & Pilates was born from recognizing a crucial gap in wellness care – the space between traditional injury-focused physical therapy and general fitness. I saw too many active adults struggling with persistent, on-and-off pain who didn’t have a clear “injury” to fix but weren’t feeling their best, often hesitating before playing with grandchildren or joining friends for activities due to fear of how they’d feel the next morning. My vision was to create a wellness space that treats the whole person, not just isolated problems, combining hands-on rehabilitative care with movement education in a supportive environment.
What is the best piece of parenting advice you’ve received?
“Don’t try to make a happy baby happier.” This quote relieved so much mom guilt. If he is happily playing with a spoon while I respond to emails, I am trying not to feel the pressure to stop and play, when he is already plenty happy!
Do you have a favorite podcast or TV show to recommend to our followers?
So my podcast listening has been admittedly boring lately – just focused on physical therapy or business specific listens. I do have a book rec though! Let’s Choose Less, written by a local Charlotte mom, Jenna Michael, is seriously a game-changer if you’re feeling overwhelmed by being pulled in every direction with kids.
