Meet a Mom: Britta Veneziano | Charlotte Moms Network

Britta Veneziano is the owner of the New Mom School here in Ballantyne.  Read on to learn more about her and her wonderful business!

Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I’m Britta Veneziano. I was born in Germany, raised in Southern California, and graduated from the College of Charleston before eventually settling down in Charlotte. I’m a mom to three amazing kids—Avery (6), Madison (3), and our newest little love, Camryn, who’s just 5 weeks old. We also have a goldendoodle named Macaroni who keeps us all entertained. Life is full, messy, and beautiful—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Living that mom life has made me passionate about building community for other moms and creating the kind of support system that made such a difference in my own early motherhood journey.

What are your favorite activities/restaurants in and around Charlotte?
We love getting outside as a family—walking the greenways is one of our favorite ways to reset and burn off some energy. You can also find us spending hours at The Bowl—there’s always something to do, and it’s such a fun, family-friendly spot. Our favorite restaurants are Flower Child, Open Rice, and Inizio’s Pizza (we’re obsessed with the pistachio pizza!). And for dessert, we’re big fans of Andy’s Frozen Custard.

What are your child(ren)’s favorite things to do in Charlotte?
My kids love exploring all the amazing playgrounds around the city—Charlotte really delivers when it comes to fun outdoor spaces. Discovery Place Science is always a hit, especially on rainy days. We also love the family-friendly events at Rea Farms, and one of our favorite things about living here is being able to visit actual working farms for seasonal events—it’s such a fun way for the kids to experience something hands-on and different.

What’s something new in the Charlotte area that you’d like to do this summer?
This summer, we’re hoping to check out the beach at Ebenezer Park on Lake Wylie. It looks like such a fun and easy day trip spot. We also just got Carrowinds passes, which everyone raves about.

Tell us about your business (When did you start your business? What types of services do you provide? Where are you located? Any upcoming events?)
I’m the owner of New Mom School Ballantyne here in Charlotte, as well as New Mom School Mount Pleasant in Charleston. We offer educational, supportive, and connection-driven group classes for moms with babies from birth through toddlerhood. Each class is thoughtfully organized by baby’s age and stage to meet moms exactly where they are.

Our signature offering is the Newborn Series—an 8-week program designed for moms to begin when their baby is between 3–6 weeks old. Moms are placed in a small, supportive cohort of 10–12 women who meet weekly in our beautiful studio space. The curriculum is backed by our Medical Advisory Board and includes expert-led sessions on topics like infant sleep, feeding, postpartum mental health, and more. It’s where many moms truly find their village—leaving each week with trusted guidance, meaningful connection, and the reassurance that they’re not alone in this season.

New Mom School originally launched in California in 2012 and has since supported over 10,000 moms nationwide through its proven, research-based curriculum. I personally attended New Mom School after having my first baby, Avery, in 2019, and it completely transformed my postpartum experience. That level of support and connection made such a lasting impact on me that I didn’t think twice about bringing it to other moms when the opportunity came.

We opened New Mom School Ballantyne in February 2025, followed by Mount Pleasant in April 2025, and are currently preparing to open our third studio in North Charlotte in Spring 2026. We also host free weekly breastfeeding support groups and special community events to keep moms connected and supported long after their series ends.

What is the best piece of parenting advice you’ve received?
The best advice I’ve received is to trust my gut and not get caught up in what other parents are doing. Every child is different, and comparison only adds unnecessary pressure. At the end of the day, you know your kids best—and you are exactly who they need.

Do you have a favorite podcast or TV show to recommend to our followers?
I’ve never been able to get into podcasts, but I can highly recommend anything by Kristin Hannah if you’re into Audible books. As for TV, my husband and I recently binged (and loved) “Your Friends and Neighbors” with Jon Hamm on Apple TV. SO good!
