Tell us a little about yourself.
Born and raised in New York City and have been in the Queen City for almost a decade. Proud M.O.M (Mother of Multiples) to twin girls, a recovering Corporate Exec, and Rookie Entrepreneur.
What are your favorite activities/restaurants in/around Charlotte?
When I first visited Charlotte, I thought it was such a charming and pretty city. I also think it’s a great place to raise kids and a central location to the mountains and the beach! We enjoy anything food related – I am loving Camp North End!
Tell us about your business.
I took a leap of faith, trading the boardroom for the chessboard, to start The Knight School South Charlotte last year. We partner with schools to bring high-energy, fun chess lessons to kids. Our preschool program, Little Geniuses, starts as young as 3.5 years old, and our Elementary chess classes are ages 5-16. We have summer camp registration through the end of July, and will resume after-school classes in September. Additionally, this fall, we are partnering with Matthews Community Center for a FREE class series every Saturday this October. It’s been rewarding to build something meaningful, and we’re all about making learning fun, building confidence, and teaching life skills through chess. What is the best piece of parenting advice you’ve received?
Document the chaos and joy! Now I look back in awe as a survivor of the early days, which were a sleepless blur. Grateful for camera phones because I get to relive those precious moments like when both of them could fit in my arms.
